I have been comparing deep summer with soft winter for a few evenings in ordinary daylight. the usual palette images stop helping when the tones are close. i kept the light constant before judging any of the fabrics. then i removed makeup and bright accessories so they would not influence the result. deep shades gave contrast although a few made my under-eye shadows more noticeable. muted blue and berry shades seemed easier though i am unsure whether that is familiarity. my checklist records contrast visible texture and whether my eyes look clearer. an organised color analysis could give me another way to compare those observations before i label anything. i would treat any result as a starting point rather than a verdict. have you found a reliable way to compare depth against softness at home? advice that does not depend on perfect sunshine would be especially helpful. for now i would rather improve the comparison than choose a category too quickly. repeated observations across ordinary days should be more useful than one flattering photograph. thank you for any practical perspectives you can offer.
